2013 22 in x 19 in x 19 in mixed media (plywood wood, twine & paint) The Frances table lamp explores the making process of balancing the handmade with digital fabrication. The 3D form is a play on a recognizable 2D silhouette of a table lamp.
2012 mixed media (steel, galvanized wire, felt, foam, twine & paint) 31 3/4 in x 22 in x 35 1/2 inches The "Knotty" chair consists of a lash knot assembled steel frame, linking the structural and the upholstery systems. Knots existed as a common theme amongst the sewing modification methods. "Knotty" exchanges production practices of soft and hard networks.
2012 16 ¼ 28 x 25 ½ inches Mixed Media (fiberglass, Styrofoam, fabric, twine, magnets, and steel) The "Beekeeper" stool project focuses on integrating fashion apparel fabric manipulation techniques with upholstery sewing and patterning, in order to reveal the potential for inherent three-dimensional cushioning forms. The upholstery of "Beekeeper" consists of a magnetic cushion, allowing for it to be a table or stool and for its modularity as a bench form.
2011 10 ¾ x 8 ½ x 8 inches Mixed Media (expandable polyurethane foam, glass, mesh fabric, zipper, twine) The "Shorty-Fat" vase project investigated the interaction between expandable polyurethane foam and a poly mesh fabric, which had an applied fabric manipulation technique.
2011 35 ¼ x 42 ½ x 31 1/2 inches Mixed media: fabric, fiberglass, Dacron, Tyvex, twine, steel & paint Intertwining upholstery and structural systems into a single design process marries fashions fabric manipulation techniques and upholstery, allowing for the potential of the fabric to reveal inherent three-dimensional forms. The approach merges soft and hard systems into one structural system sewing the artist's/designer's proprietary fiberglass composite material.
